Cuteness

PJ Babies

When I look at my sweet babies (toddlers), I sometimes still can't believe they're here.  Scott and I often talked about this when Lyra Kate was a newborn - we felt like we were babysitting and someone would come and take her away!  I know that sounds silly, but they sometimes seem too good to be true!

I know how blessed we are to have them but I feel especially blessed to get to spend all my time with them.  I am with them about 95% of the time.  Occasionally, they will visit Nana & Pop for a few hours, but usually they are with me.  That gives me the opportunity to hear all the cute little things that they say.  Here are just a few from the last few weeks...

Lyra Kate, upon waking up in the morning, "Get sis, I still sweepy!"

This is my face that I make when I'm screaming.

Lila Grace, with the realization of not being able to go swing outside, "Outside...rain"  She sounded so pitiful!

Lyra Kate, running up and holding her nose, "Sis stinky."  Me, on smelling that familiar smell, "Really, I think you may be stinky too?"  Lyra Kate, "No, I no stinky.  I just poot."

Lyra Kate, in the car seat on the way home from church, "Mommy, I love candy and home and pigs!"

Lila Grace, having climbed into the chair in her room and being unable to get down, "Mama, Mama, Mama... I swuck!"  (translation "I stuck")

Lila Grace was crying and wanting to be picked up.  She didn't feel so great.  Lyra Kate to Lila Grace, "Sis, you no baby.  Tuck-tuck's the baby."

I just wanna kiss that fat little cheek!

Lyra Kate, wearing her pig pjs, "Mommy, I love pigs."  Me, "Why?"  Lyra Kate, "Because they're pink!"

Lyra Kate, in the morning having slept late and missed saying goodbye to Daddy, "Mommy, where's my Daddy?"  Me, "Daddy had to go to work, honey."  Lyra Kate, "Oh, I want to see my Daddy."  She walks over to the baby monitor, which she plays is a phone, and puts it to her ear and says "Daddy, this Lyra Kate, come home!"

Lila Grace comes up to me in the kitchen while I'm washing dishes and pulls on my leg.  Me, "Do you want a cracker?"  She shakes her head yes and I give her a Ritz cracker from the roll on the counter.  She takes a big bite, makes a bunch of smacking sounds, and says "Mmmmmm...cwacker!"

Blue eyed Baby

Lyra Kate, in her car seat on the way home from Kroger.  She looks over and realizes that Lila Grace has fallen asleep.  She reaches over and grabs her hand and starts shaking. "Wake up sis, wake up.  Me not sweepy, wake up!"

And this is one that Daddy got to hear.  We were at Newk's for lunch and someone he knows stops by the table.  Lyra Kate decides to do the introductions "Hey, I'm me...  and that's Daddy!"

Lyra Kate's true colors...Can you say DIVA!

Trick or Treat

This year, I was able to get the costumes that I wanted for last year....so Lyra Kate was

Little Bo Peep
And every Little Bo Peep needs a...

Little sheep
The girls loved their costumes!  Of course, Lyra Kate being the fashion conscience child that she is, loved wearing her costume - hat and all!  Lila Grace's costume was so soft and satin lined so she was quite comfy too.  She didn't even mind the head piece.

We had a great time dressing up and getting candy.  Lyra Kate even walked the whole route while Lila Grace rode in the stroller.  We're already looking forward to next year in our child friendly neighborhood (We had around 100 children ring our doorbell)!
